Buffer-C - Controls pH, Assists Microbial ActionBUFFER-C is a proprietary blend of organic acids and buffers to replace Muriatic Acid for etching concrete. BUFFER-C has a mild citrus odor and produces NO CHLORINE FUMES. BUFFER-C removes laitance and weak, poorly hydrated concrete surfaces to facilitate the use of sealers and coatings. III. Buffer-C LimitationsWill not etch concrete through oils, greases, waxes, old coatings or sealers. If concrete exposed to BUFFER-C does not produce foaming action, a water insoluble agent is present on the concrete. See Concrete Cleaning Procedures. IV. Buffer-C ApplicationProtect all foliage and adjacent surfaces from over spray. Spray BUFFER-C evenly onto concrete surface using a low pressure pump up garden sprayer. Wet surface thoroughly and let work for 3 to 5 minutes. Foaming should occur as fresh material contacts the concrete surface. When foaming stops, the material has been neutralized and will not continue to etch. The combination of the acids in the BUFFER-C and the alkali in the concrete produces a harmless neutral salt (ester) which can be rinsed away. V. Safety and HandlingSafe work practice will include the use of chemical goggles or face shields, rubber gloves, and full length clothing.
